Our story began in 1993 with the establishment of BYKO-LAT SIA. Through careful development of the company from the very beginning, we became one of the largest and most efficient wood processing companies in Latvia. Our desire for improvement extends beyond the country’s borders, making us a major exporter of forest products.

In 2018, BYKO-LAT SIA was acquired by Bergs Timber AB (publ). Becoming part of the Bergs Group, which has extensive experience in wood processing and the production of various timber products, has started a new phase of development in cooperation with independent companies from Scandinavia, the Baltic states, Poland and the UK.

In 2023 a strategic decision was made to re-brand the company to Bitus Latvia SIA. This change is a reflection of our company’s development and our continuous progress towards high standards in the wood processing industry.

Bitus Latvia SIA has two production facilities in Latvia – in Valmiera and Cēsis.

In Valmiera, we process and finish sawn timber, produce high quality wooden panel and modular houses, as well as wooden windows and doors.

In Cēsis, we produce garden and landscaping products, as well as high-quality wood chip pellets.

Sustainable thinking is at the heart of everything we do. Every day we work with an environmentally friendly material – wood. All our products are certified and sourced from responsibly managed forests. We are constantly striving to reduce our environmental impact, including switching to ever more advanced production technologies and inspiring our partners to do the same.

Bitus offers a wide range of different solutions for the woodworking industry. In addition to traditional wood protection with high-pressure impregnation to various standards, Bitus is the only producer of Linax linseed oil in Sweden. We also carry out heat and fire treatments.
