Developments of the project “Promoting the International Competitiveness of the Wood Construction Cluster”, November 2017.

The Latvian Wood Construction Cluster has carried out various activities within the scope of the project “Promoting the International Competitiveness of the Wood Construction Cluster” to promote the the wood processing industry in Latvian and foreign markets.

In September of this year, Mr. Zamurs, the Head of LWCC, participated in the 5th Cluster Matchmaking Conference in Stuttgart, where he gained new knowledge about clusters in other countries and established new contacts to facilitate the expansion of the Latvian Wood Construction Cluster in the future, and to promote the LWCC in other countries through new cooperation partners.

In an effort to continue the planned activities of the Latvian Wood Construction Cluster, an agreement was concluded on the publishing of promotional articles on the wood processing industry in relevant newspapers in Sweden. Two articles were prepared about the Cluster members and their activities, promoting the LWCC in the Swedish market.

Work continues on the creation of the LWCC website to transform it from a collection of information into a modern sales-oriented website. The website will be used as a sales platform for Latvian Wood Construction Cluster members.

The total budget of the project is 488,220.00 EUR, which includes 85% co-financing from the European Regional Development Fund, i.e. EUR 414,987.00.

It is expected that the project will be implemented by 31 December 2020.
